Initiatives instigated by PepinNini Minerals to address social issues of local communities include:
- Promotion and support of local cultural events, sporting carnivals and art shows.
- Involvement and engagement of local community groups.
Our exploration operations and staff are respectful of the wishes and concerns of the local people and we ensure the communities are frequently updated with progress of our activities through regular information meetings. Wherever possible we have employed local services to undertake work such as track and site construction, rehabilitation and logistical supplies. Local applicants are employed and trained as field technicians.
- Involvement and engagement of other stakeholders.
Pastoral leaseholders and other stakeholders are identified and engaged at an early stage and kept fully informed of the activities of PepinNini Minerals by regular meetings. Wherever possible the services of the landowner are engaged to undertake work such as track and site construction and the provision of accommodation and logistics. PepinNini has initiated a scholarship, currently in its fourth year of operation, to assist disadvantaged students from isolated pastoral leases who wish to undertake a geology degree at the University of Adelaide.
